Projects Gallery announces Fresh! 2010, its annual season opener of emerging artists. This year’s exhibition was co-curated by Gallery Director Helen Meyrick and recent Yale graduate school finalist and Fresh! 2008 alum artist Brooke Holloway. For the past three years, Fresh has picked from the annual graduating student shows a season-opening exhibition of both new talent and best promise. This year's participants include: Adrián Aguirre, Christy Bottie, Michelle Anne Clements, Scott Patrick Giblin, Katelyn Greth, Kelly A. Kozma, a.d. loveday, Maggie Mills, Reza Nahaie-Ghanad, Winston Sordoni and Laurie Werth, all of whom were educated and/or live in the Philadelphia area. More than half the size of last year’s presentation in number of artists, this smaller grouping will allow for a more complete appreciation of their artistic temperament. Continuing with a diverse range of styles and media, these artists display a focus that is both personal and contemporary. At a glance, there is a shared interest in both nature and social relationships. However, even in those confines, each artist brings to the audience a sense of self.
Projects Gallery is located at 629 N. 2nd St. in Philadelphia’s Northern Liberties section. Gallery hours are Wednesday – Friday 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday noon to 7 p.m. A preview of works may be viewed on the gallery’s website at www.projectsgallery.com.
